Mouse Issue on Gnome and some Apps

Hello,

I’ve noticed a weird behavior of my mouse since a few days now, it happens on Godot Engine I can use the mouse properly for a few minutes then scrolling doesn’t work, dragging items too, then clicks after a while.

I also had this issue on VSCode but It seems to be gone since I’ve switched to VSCodium.

Is there any regression I’m not aware of in Gnome or something about it ?

Thanks for your help

I’m experiensing the same issue since few days ago, sometimes the mouse freezes, when using an external mouse or the laptop touchpad.
when it happens i can’t put the cursor in intellij editor, can’t scroll the editor but i can scroll in intellij tool windows. in vivaldi its the same, can’t scroll and can’t mark text. when it happens some apps work and some don’t. i tried with or without external monitor, with or without dell dock etc. the mouse comes back to work after a few minutes and it happens again after a few minutes.
today I rolled back to a snapshot from 06.06.2025 and the issues are gone and i can work again.
I’m using dell xps 15.

Had similar issue but in virtualbox installation with gnome. After some period of time, windows stop moving, impossible to scroll on intellij idea, inpossible to copy /paste.
Unfortunately i got only 5 snapshot available and all are too recent. Switching to xorg mitigate the problem but not solve.
Can you also tell me how to proceed?
I’ m new of opensuse tumbleweed and only now i understood my snapshot configuration is wrong cause old snashot are gone.

The bug (and SR changelog) say

It only affects applications that render via the X11 display protocol.

which means it should only affect some (not all) running applications in the default GNOME Wayland session. From the previous posts it is not clear whether affected applications run as native Wayland or X11 clients.

arvidjaar, you are saying you are not sure if this issue is with gnome+x11 or gnome+wayland (due to legacy sw using xwayland), correct?
Till now, cause i’ m using virtualbox was mandatory using x11 cause wayland was unstable indipendent from this recent issue.

I am sure that the bug report and submitted fix is about applications that run as X11 clients. Which means all applications on X11 and some applications on Wayland.
