I am using Tumbleweed KDE
The last couple of weeks my mouse is responding different when I click.
It seems that it gives a double click action on a single click.
So selecting a file in a list opens it instead of selecting it only.
Not always but so often that it is really anoying. say one time in 4/5 clicks
And yes, i have the system setting / workspace behaviour / general behavior / click behaviour on double click to open files & folders.
I have changed the battery.
It goes wrong in all kind of apps such as browsers or krusader.
I am not sure if this has to do with the double click speed.
The system settings / input devices / mouse from KDE does not have the option (anymore??) to change the doubleclick speed.
I’m pretty sure that in earlier days I had the possiblity to change that speed, but that can also be an “Windows experience” from a couple of years ago.
I am using a simple Logitech mouse & keyboard with a unifying controller.
Tried some mouse apps, such as Solaar but to no avail.
My Tumbleweed is “dup-dated” to 2020-06-20
Is there someone who has a possible solution or explanation.
When that happens, I think about replacing the mouse.
Usually, I put up with it for a while, until it gets so bad that I can’t stand it.
This is my one complaint about Logitech mice. They work well in most other respects. But, after a while, they start to produce too many double-clicks. The switches wear out.
You must “click” far more than I. 
I’ve used logitech mice since time immemorial and have yet to experience a problem with the switches. In fact I’ve one which is over ten years old and still going strong, well, OK, it’s feet are a little worn and it’s body has developed a nice shine, but the switches are still fine. (I may regret having written this…)
I would guess that I click less than you. But perhaps I am more observant of click malfunctions.
I’ve had that happen twice with Logitech mice, one started to double click and the other one couldn’t do a right click any longer. The micro switches have a limited life time, but if you can solder they can be replaced. There are plenty of how-to’s on youtube or on ifixit.
First thing that can be tried is to clean the micro switches, that might help for awhile.

But your reaction was a reason for me to open the mouse to look for hardware issues.
Wow, i have not seen so much dirt in such a small place.
I removed hair, crumbs and other not recognized dirt.
The print was full of it and this could easly created some unwanted lines on the print.
After cleaning I closed the mouse and desinfected my hands.
I’m using it now and the error has not appeared since then.
fingers crossed.
The scrollwheel runs now much more gentle, so that’s already a plus.
