respectfully,

The “Other” entry should be the one that will boot Windows.

Maybe you want to rename the entries using Yast2 > Bootloader.

Be careful though and you’ll be fine

I go to Yast> Bootloader, but I don’t know what is the new correct name for the entries should I use.

the third entry is:

windows other dev/dsa3

any Idea?

Well, the last one has

title windows

and boots from (hd0,2) which is Grub speak for /dev/sda3. And that seems to be your Windows (or Vistas) C.
Does not that one boot Vista?

And please next time, put the computer input/output between CODE tags (the # sign in the icons above. Much better then making things bold, etc. because the compter lay-out is saved then. E.g. from my system:

boven:~ # fdisk -l

You see the difference?

Thank you, yes I see

Actually I don’t know which one is for vista boot,
could you please tell me how?

When booting, don’t you see the following on the screen:

openSUSE
Failsafe – openSUSE
windows

as items? Use the arrow keys to go down to the last one and hit enter. What does boot then?

I am sorry for the delay
I tried to make a repair for installed opensuse11.2 using my DVD, then the boot loader become without windows

here I have only toww booting options :

openSUSE
Failsafe -- openSUSE

I am sorry and hope to be patient with me :shame:

Why did you do the repair? I asked you about the bootscreen menu and to try the windows entry, not to go for repair.

As you can see for yourself, now the entry for windows is gone. So we are worse then before. We now have to undo your repair!

As root edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and add at the end:

###Don't change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: other###

rootnoverify (hd0,2)
chainloader +1

Now check if the whole file is the exactly the same as it was before and as you posted it above in post #3.

Then go back to my post #8 above and answer my questions. When you do other things that is your responsability, but as I can not see what you are doing, I can not help you then.

I am sorry :’(
I make undo for repair as you said, and see at booting the following:

Please forgivme because i do the previous repair:X

Why do we have the xen kernel in the mix now??? And the partitioning is totally different… :sarcastic:

You keep digging yourself a deeper hole.

Like gogalthorp I am flabergasted. You should make it the same as it was in your post #3 and evrybody can see it isn’t.

And again there is no answer to the question: Do you see the entry “windows” in the boot screen and what happens when you use it.

Please, we are not payed for this job of trying to help people, cerrtainly not by you. So you can not go on doing all sort of things we did not ask and still ask from us that we understand what you are doing.

OK, I am so sorry, Iam not playing
I think I have to format my hard disk to re-install opneSUSE.

Thank you all

Hi, I doubt that you need to format your hard disk. If you reinstall, take extra care in the areas of partitioning and setting up the boot loader, It may be easier to ensure GRUB is installed in the MBR.

Please come back here if you have further problems.
