I’m planning to migrate from Ubuntu to openSUSE. Has anyone done that with any form of success? Apart from blowing the machine away is there any easy way to do this?
I am running x86_64 and planning to remain on that.
Your problem is, you probably don’t have a separate /home partition in Ub.
So you will need to back up all your user data from your /home in Ub
You can no doubt use some of the settings and the email, data etc…
But really you will need to wipe the disc.
