So I boot from the USB stick and I get asked a localhost login even before any install started. I use a MacBook pro 2015 (if that matters), I haven’t had this issue with the other distros that I tried (including tumbleweed), but would really like to try Aeon.
A bit of extra information is that I flashed with rufus because the recommend balena is unable to flash the image.
@Warp Hi, use dd command to create the iso, or just boot from a rescue USB (I use TW Rescue) and then lay the image onto the bare-metal storage media. Aeon is single boot only…
Do you mean that it won’t work along windows? I was planning to install Aeon on a separate SSD. For the rest of your recommendations I’ll give it a try. I believe rufus automatically went DD because it didn’t ask me if I wanted ISO or DD like it usually does but I’ll double check and look at the other option you gave. Thanks 
Correct Aeon is a single install bare metal any other way is unsupported
