The network card uses it’s manufactured MAC address before the OS taking control. When the computer just starts recovering from the supend session before booting into desktop, what’s the MAC address used in this short period?
I would say is the same. That’s why the manufacturer imprints this MAC address into the piece of hardware. You could via software trick a system about the MAC address but at that stage I assume is the one hardcoded with the hardware.
