Madwifi ath5k or athpci

I have a Netgear wg511T pcmcia card. It was recognised in Yast and given the name “AR5212/AR5213”. It has an atheros chipset, here’s the ou5tput from lspci:
Atheros Comms Inc AR5212/5213 Multiprotocol MAC/Baseband processor (rev 01)
I’m running openSUSE 11.0 KDE3.5.9 and it’s fully updated.
I installed Madwifi and configured the card in yast. It doesn’t turn on. iwconfig shows it as wlan0 with the access point as invalid. In Yast card configurator there are two Modules: Ath5K and ath_pci. I’ve tried both of them. When I try:
ifup wlan0
I get: SET failed on device wlan0; operation not supported.

Any advice please.
Thanks

Thankyou. I figured it out. I blacklisted ath5k in file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist. Selected ath_pci in Yast → network devices → Hardware. Rebooted. The card changed to “ath0”. I configured it in Yast. It came to life.
