Hello !!
i have a issue, with root user ls -la command the date file format is “jul 5”, but with other user ls -la command format is “2010-07-05”. My question is, why is it the difference?? i haven´t found something special in configuration (user´s profile)
It’s the same for all users for me, but it’s probably due to the --time-style option of ls using the locale of root. Or maybe root has an alias for ls that uses --time-style. See man ls.
Yep, same here, I see the same date style for all users… May be like ken suggested - the root user’s profile might have aliased ls with the time-style option…
You are free to ask technical question and / or ask for support. We have a special part of our forums for it titled “Get HELP Here” with all sort of subforums for different interests. People who might know something about what you ask will of course keep an eye on those subforums where they excel in.
Now my question is why did you post this, what is a technical question imho explicitly in the forum titled :General", subforum Chit chat, where a subtitle explicitly says: : …: PLEASE do not post help questions here".
Can you please tell us how we can make it more clear for people to make them post in the correct (sub)forum.
