I tried to install a HP710C (parallel port) on my laptop (NEC Versa P440) using openSuse 11.1 (KDE 3.5). I tried a long time using yast-printer, and the printer was recognized first on the lpt1 port as HP710C. I installed a driver (cups driver) corresponding to this model, but nothing was printing.
I have seen several other posts concerning this issue, but well…I uninstalled yast2-printer and cups etc and reinstalled everything (using yast) and hop…now, yast2-printer does not recognize my printer anymore. He is scanning all devices but does not detect the printer although it is plugged.
Someone had similar problem? How can I debug this problem?
