Hello
I was reading the following manual in order to improve my Linux knowledge, I do not know if you know it:
**Linux and Unix system administration handbook 4th edition
**In the third chapter, that speaks about the booting process, there is written the Suse has got an excellent documentation about this topic located in the following file:
/etc/init.d/README
But unfortunately I could not find any trace of this file or directory. I have to say the the book takes in consideration the version 11.2 and I have installed the 12.1, but I do not think this is the issue. Do you have any tips for this?
Thank you in advance

openSUSE 12.1 moved from sysvinit to systemd, so the boot process is
quite different, while still sysvinit compatible to an extent.
Have a look at the systemd documentation.

Yes, that is precisely the issue. The booting procedure has been changed,
the old documentation removed, and the new documentation has not been created.

How does your question relate to the booting process documentation? I’m
baffled by your question.
Perhaps you posted here by mistake, and have to post a really new question,
with details.
