Login loop Tumbleweed

Hi iedereen, ik heb mijn Linux Mint vervangen door OpenSuse Tumbleweed. Het leek allemaal goed te gaan maar nu heb ik fstab aangepast en loopt de boel in het honderd. Ik heb een aparte drive voor /home. Nu is de installatie van Tumbleweed niet zo vriendelijk om mij dat makkelijk in te laten stellen bij de installatie. Dus achteraf heb ik de standaard /home lijn uit fstab gewist en vervangen voor mijn eigen lijn. Op zich is er niets mee aan de hand totdat ik mijn wachtwoord moet ingeven bij sddm.
Ik zit dan in een loop.
Met alt ctrl f1 ga ik in console en log dan in met normale inloggegevens, Geen probleem. Het systeem geeft hier wel aan dat de rechten niet goed staan op /home/gebruikersnaam maar in de console lijk ik daar geen last van te hebben. Vervolgens doe ik sudo sddm en ik heb een goed werkende X11 omgeving.
Wat ik niet kan ontdekken is het verschil tussen de eerste sessie van sddm en de tweede (aangemaakt op de console). De rechten waarschijnlijk maar die lijken in orde wanneer ik via de console daar gebruik van maak.

Ik heb je verhaal gelezen, maar er is alleen maar “verhaal” en geen enkel echt gegeven.

Als je bijv. over /etc/fstb wilt praten, willen wij die dan ook zien.

cat /etc/fstab`

En liefst ook wat je hebt veranderd.

Hetzelfde voor die permissies.

ls -l /home

op zijn minst en ook van de desbetreffende home directory.

Dit werkt prima. Zoals je ziet gaat gebruiker nico na cd gewoon naar zijn home directory die sddm niet kan bereiken.

Eerst even vervelend worden

Als je hier computer tekst toont dan doe je dat als Code, anders is het niet leesbaar. Hoe? Gebruik bijv. de knop </> uit de werkbalk boven het veld waarin je de post tikt en vervang “type or paste code here” door je te plakken tekst.
Verder kopieer en plak je alles volledig. Dat is dus inclusief het commando met de prompt, anders weten wij niet wat je doet. En als je dan ook nog de regel met de nieuwe prompt laat zien weten wij dat het compleet is.

Voor mij lijkt het dus meer en meer op een rechten probleem maar waar???
root mag sddm wel starten maar bij opstarten van systeem lukt het niet.

In tussentijd een aantal dingen gedaan:
lightdm geïnstalleerd. Zelfde resultaat.
Bestand /var/run/utmpx aangemaakt. Dat resulteert in een ander SDDM.log
De fouten van utmpx zijn weg. Verder blijft het gedrag hetzelfde. Loping login.

Dat is allemaal mooi, maar ik zou toch wel graag de eerste uitvoer opnieuw willen zien in leesbare vorm. Inclusief de gevraagde maat niet getoonde

In tussentijd een aantal dingen gedaan:
lightdm geïnstalleerd. Zelfde resultaat.
Bestand /var/run/utmpx aangemaakt. Dat resulteert in een ander SDDM.log
De fouten van utmpx zijn weg. Verder blijft het gedrag hetzelfde. Loping login.

Ik zie het nog niet. Het lijkt alsof /home er niet “op tijd” is.
Of dat er ergens nog een oude verwijzing naar de oude plek (binnen het Btrfs file systeem van /) is blijven hangen.
Heel vaag. Ook ik zie dat je GUI login geen cd /home/nico kan doen terwijl je even later met cddat wel lukt.

Ik heb het probleem opgelost door mijn data van de home schijf veilig te stellen en Tumbleweed opnieuw te installeren en daarbij mijn home schijf opnieuw in te stellen als /home. Nu kan ik de data weer terug zetten en alle instellingen opnieuw zetten.

Dit kost veel tijd maar in ieder geval ook een frisse start.
