Hi,

Please verify that you have installed the lkcdutils package. If you want to dump the kernel crash to a network server, youi will also need the lkcdutils-netdump-server package.

Find details here:

Hi,
thank you for your response.
I have already saw the too web sites, but the probleme is in the installation not in configuration, and i don’t need the netdump.
If I have to reinstall the LKCD it means I have to patch the kernel (because the lkcdutils was installed in the server), and I didn’t find the patch for my version of kernel (2.6.5-7.244) so please help me to resolve the probleme.
thank you so much.

Hi,

Let’s see. If your kernel is 2.6.5-7.244, you are likely using SLES 9 SP3.
For that specific release, the corresponding lkcdutils package is
version 4.2, release 193.68.
The package name is: lkcdutils-4.2-193.68.i586.rpm.

All the files you seem to be missing are contained in that package.

Thus, double check you have it in place:

rpm -qa | grep lkcdutils

If you see an output ressembling this, it is installed:
lkcdutils-4.2

By the way, there is no need to patch the kernel to make it work.
Just install lkcdutils from the on-line respositories or from the CD1 in the official SLES 9 SP3 disk set.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
