This is a rather hazy idea that hopefully other forum users can add suggestions to and fill in the gaps.

Bringing all the openSUSE forums together under one roof was great for newbies but there is still a wealth of knowledge out there in the wider Linux community spread over many other sites and forums. For instance I have sometimes found the answer to a problem I was having on openSUSE in the forums for another distro.

Could openSUSE forums make it easier for newbies to find information on other Linux sites? Perhaps a Linux Google search bar? Or a top ten of Linux sites that forum users can vote for? Just throwing some ideas out there!

Nice suggestion. I usually do my search like what you mentioned.

You just have to remember when reading the other places that your mileage may vary due to different distros.

I usually start with the appropriate distribution’s forum, and then Google (be my friend) and that usually solves most issues.
