Limited connection

I tried samba to share and accès with a windows pc.

I tried to use WINS.
I checked ‘get winservver via dhcp’ and ‘use WINS to résolve hostname’

At the moment i click on ‘ok’ then m’y internet connection was limited.
I can’t access to internet.

I unactivated all about samba.

Ping conncheck.opensuse.org result in ‘system erreur’

Dig @192.168.0.254 conncheck.opensuse runs well
192.168.0.254 is the provider dns ipv4

Dig @127.0.0.1 conncheck.opensuse leads to 'connection refused

Host forums.opensuse.org runs well

Nslookup download.opensuse runs well

Curl -v http://conncheck.opensuse.org leads to 'could not résolve Host: conncheck.opensuse.org,

Hours and hours Reading internet did not sole the problem.

With another tumbleweed i get no problem

Please help

Is a reinstallation of tumbleweed over the current tumbleweed can solve the problem ?

Thanks

Check the hosts entry of /etc/nsswitch.conf

Share the results here if further advice needed.

Also show us

cat /etc/resolv.conf

host: [NOT FOUND=return] files mdns_minimal dns

nameserver 192.168.0.254
nameserver 2a01:e00::2
nameserver 2a01:e00::1
nameserver fd0f:ee:b0::1

Can it be a firewall problem ?

It seems the problem is around solving host names

This is wrong. No method will be tried.

It should look like this…
hosts: files mdns_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns

Never tinker with these (unless you know what you are doing):

erlangen:~ # rpm -qf /etc/nsswitch.conf
glibc-2.41-2.1.x86_64
erlangen:~ # rpm -V glibc
erlangen:~ #

On IHE glibc uses vendor settings, which are:

erlangen:~ # grep host /etc/nsswitch.conf
# Valid databases are: aliases, ethers, group, gshadow, hosts,
# myhostname Use systemd host names
hosts:          files mdns_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns
erlangen:~ #

Wow

Many many thanks. You have solved the problem.

I changed the order then immediately i get acces to internet.

I assure you that i do not tinker the system files. As i said i just used yast samba manger, trying to use Wins server

yast2 snapper tells about files changed:
