libxcb-xlib0 not available

I’m testing the 12.2 RC2 right now on my main PC, and it seems that in 12.2 the x11-xorg-xcb package is now obsolete and has been split into smaller packages. The problem I’m facing right now is that in order to install GFire, I need to have something that provides libxcb-xlib.so.0. Looking at the naming scheme for the packages, that would mean it should be in the package “libxcb-xlib0”. Which doesn’t exist in any repository! So, are there plans to build it and put it into a repository somewhere? Or was the functionality merged somewhere, and I should wait for an update to the GFire package instead?

Actually it is worse than that – I have the release version and installed with KDE as my default desktop – xdm fails to load – it’s linked to kdm which, in turn uses the libxcb-xlib.so.0 for locking – so I cannot run X – the problem started when I removed the “auto-login” option - I suppose that’s what I get for being paranoid

I tried changing to gdm in the YAST2 system configuration, this gave me a login screen, but dumps me back to a command prompt because I don’t have GNOME installed.

I also tried copying the library from my 12.1 install - this, not surprisingly, did not work – but hey, it was worth a shot

from google searches – there seem to be a few problems with this – I’m not alone

Assistance would be appreciated.
