I have libre office installed. My main screen is UHD 3840x2160@125%. The other two screens are smaller with different scaling (1280x1024@100% and 2880x1800@150%) but not used with libreoffice.
All menus, status bars and fonts are too small.
I have installed libreoffice-qt5 and libreoffice-qt6.
What can I do?
My configuration:
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20241218
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.9.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
Kernel Version: 6.11.8-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
In for instance Calc, go to Tools>Settings>Libre Office>Show or view (third line, I do not use English lang.) Ro the right, then set all to large or Extra large as desired.
I also have a 4K monitor but do not use monitor scaling. Instead I set system fonts larger and tweak each application.
System Settings>Appearance>Fonts allows you to change the default sizes of all fonts. Also there is a slider in the bottom right hand corner of LibreOffice which increases font size.
None of the answers here worked for me.
I have a similar setup but slightly different problem, throughout LibreOffice the status bar at the bottom of the sheet is to small too read & the icons at the top menu bar are also too small as shown in the uploaded snapshot.
I also find the pop up menus so small that a magnifying glass is required.
My config:
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed with latest updates
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
Kernel Version: 6.12.8-2-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 570
Monitors: Dell U2719D at right (main) & DellP2210 at left (secondary)
On the french site dedicated to openSUSE, a user reported the same issue: libre-office writer : polices des barres minuscules.
In the last message (this morning) he reports that the huge last update solved his problem.
The thread does not precise he uses Tumbleweed, but the amount of updated packages suggest it is Tumbleweed…
Hi,
for me also none of the proposed methods works here. Also the update lbreton mentions didn’t help.I have onother java program that has exactly the same problems.
Maybe it is special GTK or Java setting.
If someone knows about those settings, maybe she/he can help.
Sorry for any confusion, I found that on moving my workstation & setting it back up I had inadvertently changed the scaling on my main monitor in system settings.
Back to 100% now and working O.K.
Don’t know if your problem is specific to LibreOffice, but font size for user interfaces can be adjusted by “System Settings” > Text & Fonts > Adjust All Fonts
for instance increasing the size from the default 10 to 14 might increase the bar height to a readable setting in LibreOffice (and other apps by the way).
