After a recent update, LibreCalc will no longer allow me to load a spreadsheet from a file. When I issue the insert sheet from file command, I receive the error message
Error loading document file:///home/charlie/Diag_Q19.xlsx:Object not accessible.
The object cannot be accessed
due to insufficient user rights.
Both the spreadsheet I am using and the file holding the existing spreadsheet have the same owner, in this case user/charlie. It is possible to open the file from which I am trying to load a spreadsheet and use the move/copy spreadsheet command to copy the spreadsheet to the file into which I am trying to insert it. It is simply that the insert from file doesn’t work. This is new and happens with every file I’ve tried. I’ve never had this problem before. I have a plain vanilla installation. The LibreOffice is Version: 6.3.3.2.0+Build ID: 30(Build:2) CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.12; UI render: default; VCL: kde5, supplied by SUSE.
If this was working very recently and your problem only just started happening,
Recommend
Open an elevated console running the following command which will display system logs in real time… Then try the operation again. Maybe something additional will be written to your log file.
Again, only if it was working very recently and something changed, you can submit a bug to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org.
And generally,
When you post a problem or submit a bug, try to provide the actual commands and results, don’t just describe verbally… For instance when you say that your file has your logged in User permissions (although I agree it’s pretty hard to misunderstand or do this check incorrectly).
What is the log command you are referencing? The actual command I entered was Sheet; Insert Sheet From File; Insert [file chosen from list]. This immediately elicits the error message in the first post. User permissions are Owner can view or modify, group and others can only view for all files. All files are owned by user/charlie and LibreCalc is launched by user/charlie. This is a recent problem. This has always worked for me for years actually.
