libcrypto.so.10

Does anyone happen to know where i can find this? I came across it on rpm find but it said for Fedora and i didn’t know if really made any difference or not. Thanks!

There is libcrypto.so.1.0.0 in package libopenssl1_0_0 (64bit)

Okay i got it. Thanks. But now how do i get it out and where do i put it? LOL

Hi
Your trying to install the google-talkplugin rpms, it’s a known issue. Create softlinks;

sudo ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0 /lib/libcrypto.so.10
sudo ln -s /lib/libssl.so.1.0.0 /lib/libssl.so.10

If your on 64bit you need to install libopenssl1_0_0-32bit

I’m 32 bit. So doing the soft links i don’t have to install anything? Coz i can’t get the file out of the 64 bit rpm.

Hi Angelbeast
No, just need to do the softlinks.

Ugh…It’s still saying i have to download the plugin when i go to try it. Is there some way i can test to see if the links took?

Hi
So you have libopenssl1_0_0 installed?

It works fine here on 64bit

Yeh it’s installed. I don’t get why it’s not working.

Hi
So what browser are you using? I’m using firefox and can see the two plugins in about:plugins

Hmmm…That’s interesting…I’m using Chrome and don’t see it listed. I also have firefox 4 beta 4 and don’t see it there either, nor in opera.

Hi
I would add to the google list here and see if you get a response;

After creating them you need to “force” the installation of the RPM without verifying dependencies, for example with the “–nodeps” argument to the “rpm” command. This is because the RPM system doesn’t actually have a way of knowing that you have added those symlinks.

Thx, good try but I’m still SOL in 11.3 after creating the symlinks and installing the Google Talk plugin ignoring the dependency check.
When I re-launch Google Voice Talk, the little keypad still prompts to download/install the plugin and any phone number entered through the keypad is disabled.

Same problem but in OpenSUSE 11.2 64-bits…

I do not seem to have access to libopenssl1 through YaST, only I do
have the libopenssl0_9_8 package installed. I also have the following
files which seem related:

/lib64/libcrypt-2.10.1.so
/lib64/libcryptsetup.so.0.0.0
/lib/libcrypt-2.10.1.so

Is it possible to link these to satisfy the Google Talk plugin requirements?
Or better can I simply get the right library?

Thanks in advance,

I am trying to install opendcp in OpenSUSE 12.1 in suse studio added the opendcp.rpm but it requires libcrypto.so.10 when I try to dl the rpm it gives me openssl dl’s so I add in the openssl and libopenssl rpm’s. DCP still requires libcrypto.so.10 how do I fix this within studio? Thank you in advance. Matt

i do not have one single clue…and, my guess is that will be the same
for most (not all) of the folks who circle in this applications forum…

hang here and see when someone knowing drops in, or i’d expect the
situation to be completely different in the SUSE Studio forum,

Hi, im trying to install SecureCRT on OpenSuse 13.1 and i get that message indicates that libcrypto.so.10 {}(64 bits) is required, iǘe done those symlinks:

geeko23@GeekoMX:/lib> ls -ltr libcrypto.so.1*
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1792120 Sep 27 16:47 libcrypto.so.1.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Dec 16 11:39 libcrypto.so.10 -> /lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0
geeko23@GeekoMX:/lib> ls -ltr libssl.so.1*
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 387144 Sep 27 16:47 libssl.so.1.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 Dec 16 11:44 libssl.so.10 -> /lib/libssl.so.1.0.0
geeko23@GeekoMX:/lib>

i tried to install it by CLI, but i get this:

GeekoMX:/home/geeko23/Downloads/SecureCRT # rpm -if scrt-7.2.0-415.rhel6-64.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libcrypto.so.10()(64bit) is needed by scrt-7.2.0-415.x86_64
libpython2.6.so.1.0()(64bit) is needed by scrt-7.2.0-415.x86_64
libssl.so.10()(64bit) is needed by scrt-7.2.0-415.x86_64
GeekoMX:/home/geeko23/Downloads/SecureCRT #

I tried to do it by Yast and i chose the break option cause it was still asking for libcrypto.so.10 {}(64 bits), it seems that SecureCRT is installed but when i click into the icon to open the program…it seems that is trying but at the end it didn’t launch, no error message is shown.

I have installed :

libpython2_7-1-0
libopenssl_0_0
libopenssl_0_0-32bit

  Anyone knows how to fix it, i will appreciate it so much.

Since the 64bit version is needed, you would have to create those links in /lib64, not /lib.

And apparently you would need /usr/lib64/libpython2.6.so as well, but I’m not sure if a link to /usr/lib64/libpython2.7.so would help here.

Try to run the program in the terminal window and you should get exact error messages as to why it does not start.

Maybe you would have more luck with the .tar.gz for Ubuntu13, since there the library versions might match better with openSUSE 13.1.

And since this is commercial software, you might try to ask their support…
