Leap 42.1 for a Laptop x32 --> no more opensuse?

Hi folks,

I have an old laptop that I use from time to time with 13.2 installed on it. Now that Leap is out, I see that there are no x32 version out there. Does that mean that it’s the end of the line for that laptop running opensuse? Are my only options to either stay with the 13.2 version or find another distro that has a x32-version?

Yes. There won’t be an official 32bit release of Leap.

A “port” might happen at some point though (if people step up to do it), just like there are ports for ARM and PPC.

Are my only options to either stay with the 13.2 version or find another distro that has a x32-version?

There’s also openSUSE Tumbleweed, which is still available as 32bit version.

I see. I rarely use the laptop, maybe once every 2 months. So I figure Tumbleweed or any other rolling release seems a bit overkill.

I simply left my old Toshiba with 13.1 intending to go with Evergreen when I
have time. That will likely outlast the machine (or my opportunity to buy a
new one ;-).
