How do I get the official nvidia driver installed with leap16 with cuda support to run Blender. I already have the repository Nvidia installed by Myrlyn.
Follow the instructions at SDB:NVIDIA_drivers.
If you like more technical details have a look at sndirsch blog.
If still in doubt, feel free to ask here.
I thought it would be easier with myrlyn.
But I guess its not easier.
Like with Linux Mint.
It doesn’t matter if you use the one-liner via zypper
sudo zypper in <matching-meta-package>
or Myrlyn where you have to choose the matching meta package and install.
In both cases you need to know which driver series and package you need and which GPU you have. But this explained in the SDB.
Your Nvidia card model?
Geforce 1060 6gb
I need just cuda support G06 default driver is not enough.
So you need nvidia-compute-G06 and possibly nvidia-compute-utils-G06, those should select needed dependencies if not already installed.
Thanks for the support.
Very helpful.
Sorry still no cusa cores.
Please show zypper se -si nvidia
Why is there no driver Manager like Linux Mint has.
Because openSUSE is not Mint. Btw the driver manager from Mint also does not work out of the box and properly with many drivers. There are enough threads and search results about this.
So better concentrate on the topic and tools which are available for openSUSE when you seek a solution for openSUSE.

This is very odd and it looks as “automatically installed” (see the “i”) so there is a package apparently asking for it.
Try to remove this “azure” thing and see what other package it tries to uninstall.
You have an odd list of repositories enabled, some even without the “refresh” flag, so I am not much surprised to see such things.
The azure files where installed automatically
Yes, I already stated that. The problem is that they are wrong , so either you know which package installed them and you remove it, or you try to uninstall the azure things and see what Myrlyn (or zypper) asks to uninstall as well.
Sorry, disregard this comment that comes from another thread I’m following.
Okay I uninstalling them.
Is it normal that nvidia-common-G06 is also installed
