Installed Leap 16.0 (in fact twice) .
In neither cae was myrlyn installed. When I used zypper to install it, mryln did not appear in the main menu.
When I ran myrlyn from the command line it installed packages fine, but did not add them to the menu.
Yast Software in Leap 15.6 did add these things to the menu.
Am I missing something here?

Which DE are you on? I suspect KDE Plasma, but please confirm.
Did you already try to logout / login?

Hmm. That is a report of the first problem - myrlyn not being installed. It doesn;t address the issue of menu maintenance…
I rather think this sort of thing is a good arguement for Leap 15.6!
Then the XFCE patterns probanly don’t require it. I have a Leap 16.0 VM with KDE and Myrlyn is installed. A quick search tells that restarting the panel could work, and also rm ~/.config/menus/xfce-applications.menu followed by a logout + login.
Thanks, but there is no such directory.
xfce seems to be the poor cousin in 16, yet I find it by far the most productive (least distracting) desktop. I shjall revert to 15.6 in order to get the work done.

Yup - but I have work to do which has to come before fighting the OS.
As I get time I am trying tumbleweed on a spare machine - to se if the functionality is there, and the software I need will run effecively.
