after the latest system and software update, the bootloader menu started as usual with the proper screen resolution, but then the login screen and the screen after user login has now a low resolution. How can I restore the proper screen resolution ?
The system was recently migrated from Leap 15.6 to 16.1.
Remark: even though nvidia components are installed, the latest boot did not start with MOK authentication of an EFI key.
To be honest with these newer GPU’s the cuda repo is probably a better choice and let it rebuild on update with dkms, plus it’s using the 610 driver. By default it will install the open version.

I did install the G07 packages, but there were no NVIDIA license agreement questions, and during reboot the blue MOK screen appeared but apparently no password for a key could be entered… the screen resolution problem persists…
these instructions describe installation process from scratch. In my case – since everything worked well before the latest system update – I just uninstalled the G06 packages and installed the G07 packages with myrlyn. If I have to install everything from scratch I could try to use the SDB instructions, but there might be a risk that the instructions are not updated for Leap 16.1
I actually decided to uninstall all nvidia components again. Now the screen resolution is perfect again BUT once logged in as user, the computer is unacceptably slow under kde plasma … what’s missing now ?
Since the nvidia G07 installations failed with Leap 16.1, I decided to re-install the nvidia G06 packages, and now the screen resolution is perfect again, as well as the computer speed. During bootup the MOK key was successfully authenticated. SOLUTION FOUND.
