Leap 16.0 has no ceph kernel modules

The kernel modules for the ceph filesystem are deactivated in the leap 16.0 kernel. So you can not load the ceph filesystem. Please compile the kernel modules for ceph in future versions.

@BenediktS Hi and welcome to the Forum :smile:
This is a peer to peer user forum, not for bugs/feature requests etc. You would need to create one at https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Submitting_bug_reports

Might be worth a read https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Ceph

I doubt it will help.

    Disable ceph (jsc#PED-7242)
1 Like

Additionally it looks like ill sarcasm - calling Ceph removal as “Feature added”:

Features added:

  *     * Disable ceph (jsc#PED-7242)

Source: SUSE-SU-2025:20166-1: important: Security update for the Linux Kernel

Might have been reverted:

Revert 0dd78566990 (“Disable ceph (jsc#PED-7242)”)

Apparently, jsc#PED-7242 is only deprecate ceph for 15-SP6 and
disable for 15-SP7.

Revert the disabling.

Could it be available in another repository?

It was reverted for SLE 15 SP6 (Leap 15.6).
