Leap 15.6 to Tumbleweed

Hey everyone! The question’s in the title, but my packages are always outdated and a pain to install on Leap. I want to move to Tumbleweed. However, I’m unsure what the safest way is to do it. If I simply do an offline update, will it keep all of my files or will I have to reinstall everything? Should I disable certain repos, or an other things?

I just want to know how much changes, how safe it is and if it’s even actually worth the upgrade.

There is, also in 15.6 the package opensuse-migration-tool that takes care of migration 15.6 → Tumbleweed ( and not only that )

I know you asked about Tumbleweed (and I played with it for a while - stopping about 6 months ago and since then sticking with LEAP-15.6), but something else you may wish to consider is ‘slowrole’.

You refer in all your posts to “Slowrole”. The correct distribution name and brand is “Slowroll”.

Thanks everyone! Got it updated to Tumbleweed and it’s all working great.

@lestagio - glad to read its working !

@hui - yes I’m bad. Correct spelling is Slowroll.
