laptop freeze when using firefox, hard reset needed, CPU is also very hot....

Hi,
since a few days i get strange laptop freezes which forces me to hard reset the device. I am not sure what exactly is the problem but there are some hints:
I seems to be related to firefox and maybe google maps and is probably related to CPU overheating.
The problem first occurred today as i opened a google maps like sightseeing map on a travel website, at first i noticed that the mouse courser did not changed anymore depending on the button or function it was hovering above, also the browser does not react to the mouse pointer, no hover effects and not reaction on clicking links, If i am fast i can do stuff like changing the desktop or switching on another window, like a terminal window, and can do stuff there. But in general the next thing that happens is that the cpu fans start getting really loud and the screen just feezes and the laptop does not react anymore. The only think i can do is pressing: ALT + PRINT + REISUB to force a restart…

The second time the problem occurred was after the restart as i was opening google maps, the same freeze. The next time right after i opened firefox (the google maps tab was still open an the active one). At the moment i use chromium and had to freezes so far, but i also avoid opening google maps…

I also noticed the the CPU temp is over 80° after such a freeze (checked directly after reboot with lsensors), normally the temperature is about 50-55°

I do not know if firefox is causing the overheating and the laptop is just freezing because of the overheating (which would be bad because the laptop should prevent that by throttling down) or if the freeze is due to some other problem and the overheating is just the result of the freeze.

I had such a problem on another laütop before but never on my desktop pc…

I use opensuse tumbleweed with GNOME.
