Lan adapter Broadcom 57xx

Hi there,

I have not used Linux since university and I finally got fed up with windows, so I installed Opensuse 11.2 on my Dell D430. Changed the wireless adapter to an intel one and everything work, except the Broadcom ethernet 5257 Adapter.

I tried everything with my limited knowledge, using the bnx2 module instad, blacklisting tg3 etc but to no avail… no eth0

In yast the pci card shows up. Here some readouts…

Please help. This is becoming a nightmare.

Works just fine.

Can you login to your router?[/size]

As mentioned, I dont get a valid ETH0 ,something must be wrong and I want to avoid using NDISWRAPPER.

Please some help!

What output do you get from

/sbin/ifconfig

Without knowing the details about the network you’re trying to connect to, have you tried configuring via YaST?

Edit: Sorry, didn’t notice dmesg errors. What happens if you try manually unloading then reloading the tg3 driver? Any errors?
