Konfuguration of USB-DVB-T

Does anyone know how to make a Terratec “Cinergy DT USB XS” run on SUSE 11.0. Are there somewhere useful configuration guidelines that even a linux-newbie can handle? Thanks !!

check http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TerraTec_Cinergy_DT_USB_XS_Diversity

There’s a good chance that the driver is in the kernel being used with Opensuse 11, but make sure you get the firmware.

Uwe

Thats the page I used. By executing the ‘make’ I get the following message:
make -C /home/v4l-dvb/v4l
make[1]: Entering directory /home/v4l-dvb/v4l' creating symbolic links... Kernel build directory is /lib/modules/2.6.25.11-0.1-pae/build make -C /lib/modules/2.6.25.11-0.1-pae/build SUBDIRS=/home/dwebert/v4l-dvb/v4l modules make: Entering an unknown directory make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.25.11-0.1-pae/build: No such file or directory. Stop. make: Leaving an unknown directory make[1]: *** [default] Fehler 2 make[1]: Leaving directory /home/v4l-dvb/v4l’
make: *** [all] Fehler 2

Either the guide is not correct or something else must be configured beforehand.

Install kernel-source.

kernel-source is already installed !!

Dont rush off to compile drivers. Check to make sure that you have fireware installed first. My PCI card needed the firmware to get going and was not recognized by YAST first up. The drivers with SUSE11 are upto date

Do you have this stick running on your machine?

No my card is a PCI unit that creates its own USB connection - a Huppaguage twin HDTV card. It just needed firmware to get it up and running. I suspect that you will need the same as the firmware will not be “open” and therefor cannot be provided with openSUSE. I got mine from LinuxTV.org - Television with Linux
