Kodak Easyshare printer

Has anyone had any luck running a Kodak Easyshare printer dock 3? I am using 11.0 and Gutenprint 5.2.2. The printer will actually print a photo, only problem is that it takes about 30 minutes vs. the 30 seconds it takes on Windows. I would really like to solve this as it is the only reason I haven’t been able to ditch XP.

As a side topic, can anyone recommend a good personal photo printer that will work in linux? I’d rather get a new printer than get rid of openSUSE :slight_smile:

Openprinting is a good place to start for further printer support on linux;

OpenPrinting database - All Kodak Printers

has some entries: you may be better able to match the specifics of your printer to what these folks have listed;

when you ask for advice on printers, many would advise HP; we have stuck to Canon; we have used the turboprint driver you buy, and it drives canon very well; increasingly though, canon now offer linux drivers with their newer printers;

for Epson, they offer linux drivers from their website

AVASYS CORPORATION

but I get the sense those drivers are slower, and give less detail than say from turboprint

let us know how you get along

Ooops, according to the openprinting website, I have a paperweight. I will ask on their forums and report back if I make any progress. Thanks for the reply.

Just an update for anyone interested. The EasyShare dock prints fine now using Gutenprint drivers. I had been trying to get a USB OTA HD capture device working. Since I unplugged it, printer works like a charm.

Minha multifuncionall é KODAK ESP-3. Não funciona no SUSE, o que devo fazer?
