Can anyone please tell me the difference(s) between packages in kmp-default, kmp-desktop, and kmp-pae, i.e. nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default, nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop, and nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-pae? On my AMD64 PhenomII X3, I have nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop, x11-video-nvidiaG02, and nvidia-computeG02 packages installed for my nVidia Corporation G72 [GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS] (rev a1) graphic card.
I presume that if you use the default kernel, you should have nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default, if you use the desktop kernel you should use nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop, and if you have the pae kernel you should use nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-pae. In other words, they are built for use with the specific kernel.
Use:
uname -a
to see which kernel you are running.
Thanks. It just happens my system has been installed with the desktop kernel and nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop package.
