Kmail won't quote.

In KDE 4.3, I find that, when replying to a message, kmail will no longer
quote the original. I have found that it will work if I rename kmailrc.
Therefore, there seems to be something about the settings in my kmailrc that
the change from KDE 4.2 to 4.3 that kmail has taken a disliking to. Does
anyone have an idea what this is and whether I can fix it without re-
constructing my settings from the ground up?

Cannot exactly help but I have had no prob with the quoting and I have the
latest 4.3 and used the same configs in all versions between from first
install of 11.1

must just be one setting you use and not me or vicky verky

Can you not do a diff between the two config files and change one setting at
a time till you hit the offending one?

That’s what I was guessing I’d have to do but was hoping to save myself some
work. Must admit to getting tired of having to edit Kontact files every time
there’s an update to KDE - the change from 3.5 to 4 caused me a load of
hassle.

Turns out to be a lot more complicated than that. There’s lots that doesn’t
match and some of the section headings are similar but not the same.

A more thorough look at my kmail files shows that some files and folders are
being accessed in obsolete, renamed .kde4 folders. Also, just writing this
has made me think further and I’ve found kmail files in the .kde folder have
been updated! What a mess! Let’s see what a load of copying and pasting will
achieve. Fingers crossed!
