KGpg only creates DSA/ElGamal key pairs

Hello:

I’m having problems with KGpg on a fresh openSUSE Leap 42.3 installation (Plasma 5.8.7), since it does not generate RSA keys in any way nor allows to select the pair capabilities.

In the “Key Generation” window the “Algorithm” combo box is empty (so no algorithm can be selected at all) and the “Capabilities” section is fully grayed out. By selecting “OK” (i.e. the only remaining option…) a DSA (Certify, Sign, Authenticate) and ElGamal (Encrypting) key pair is created.

The issue only affects KGpg since the CLI and Kleopatra can create any combination of keys without problems.

Any suggestion in order to understand and solve this issue?

I agree with your observation.

I just did some checking. Kgpg seems to allow RSA keys in openSUSE Tumbleweed and in openSUSE Leap 15.0 Beta.

My suggestion would be to make do with the command line or kleopatra for now, when creating a new key. And wait for the final release of Leap 15.0 (supposedly in May).
