KDE4 won't start

Hello:

I installed OpenSUSE 11.1 (box version). When I started a different system instead of KDE 4 from the login screen my screen went black. The mousecursor is active.
Alt-Ctrl-F3 gives me a login prompt.
I can login as root. Then I see a red colored prompt:
linux-e2t2:~ #
Question: what must I do now to get back to KDE4?

Ctrl-Alt-F7 brings you back to your desktop, but that’s apparently black. Try hitting Ctrl-Alt-Backspace twice, and the X-server, the graphic server, will be terminated giving you the kdm-login screen.

If the problem remains, it’s probably something in your plasmasettings. You could logout, Ctrl-Alt-F1, login with your own username and do this:
rm ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma* (this removes plasmarc and plasma-appletrc and “gives” you a new, clean KDE4 desktop.)
Press Ctrl-D to return to login-prompt, then Ctrl-Alt-F7 to return to the kdm-login-screen, log in and you should have a working KDE4

Succes

If you still face the problem. You should have to look into your dependency and resolve it.
