KDE4 - Minimize a window and it disappears.

New 11.3 install and working the wiggles out one at a time. If I minimize a window on the desktop it just disappears. Any and all open windows. Can’t figure out how to maximize it again. They still active somewhere because I have to kill it (crtl / esc / kill process) to close Firefox and any other windows regardless of the application. Where are they going and how I do I modify this behavior. Relatively new to KDE and navigating is still an adventure.

Hello difficilus,

Maybe you’ve removed the taskbar widget in your panel. (Not sure if it’s called the way)
To add it right click on your panel and select add widget.
Now select the taskbar widget.

Have you tried [Alt] + [Tab] to get them maximized?

Sorry if some information is wrong because I’m currently not under KDE.

Good luck!

Everything is a file in linux and everything is a widget in KDE … heh. Found a “system tray” widget and a “window list” widget. Both do much the same thing in a different way. Plasma is not so much a tool as a toy sometimes Thanks for pointer. Thanks Edward Iii. Now where did I put my coffe cup dang it …

Hi difficilus,

I’m happy when your happy!

dir -R /home/* | grep "coffee cup"

Hoot… heh - heh … and funny. I missed this a while back. Not bad at all, in fact it’s quotable and wall worthy!

Hello difficilus,

Thanks, I now use it as my signature.

Just wanted to say it’s not entirely mine.
It’s heavily inspired by a different joke.
Not sure how it went.

Good luck!
