My apologies as this has been like this for quite some time on Wayland (doesn’t happen on X) so I can’t say for sure when this started happening. Basically, when I first login my application panel on the bottom of my screen only displays a small fraction of what it should be. I can fix it by right-clicking the desktop and “Enter edit mode”, then it displays the full bar and if I exit the edit mode (which, BTW says “Enter edit mode” even tho I am in it) all is well until next reboot.
My apologies if these are overly large images, I have a 4k display and just wanted to send a full screen image of what I am talking about. Below should be the two images, the top / first one is what it looks like upon first login. It will stay that way unless I enter edit mode, and when I do it fixes itself and I can just exit and you will get what you see in the bottom / second image. If I put it to sleep or lock the display and relogin it stays fine, but on reboot that first login I get this.
I don’t have a clue what causes this. In case it matters, I do have the panel set to auto-hide, so these were taken by moving my mouse down there to get it to come up. I run OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and pretty much update daily, so I’m on all the latest. Like I said it’s been like this quite a while, I just learned to deal and it’s not really a huge deal. This is wayland and it wasn’t doing it in X but I haven’t ran X for a bit but can if that helps troubleshoot. I’m not sure it’s a bug, might be something in my config I just don’t even know where to start to troubleshoot this.
Thanks!
