Please take note of the following KDE mail thread and, news –
<Dropping Qt5 CI Support at the End of September 2025>
<KDE will drop Qt5 CI Support at the End of September 2025>

OK, what is “Qt5 CI”?

  • “Continuous Integration (CI) System” – <CI Overview>

Meaning, as of the end of September 2025, any maintenance performed on KDE Plasma 5 (Qt5) applications will not be supported by the Qt QA system used by the KDE developers.

The openSUSE Leap 16 Roadmap indicates that, Public Availability of Leap 16.0 will happen at 12:00 UTC on Wednesday the 1st of October 2025.

We only submit new versions on request, if there is no bug reported downstream we keep it as-is to avoid unexpected changes. If you are affected by a bug that’s fixed in 5.27.12, please state so and we can submit that version as update.

There was not follow up in more than two months.

Looking at the Plasma 5.27.12 Changelog, it would be nice if, Leap 15.6 updated to 5.27.12 before the Plasma 5 “no more maintenance” deadline enforced by the Qt5 CLI support being dropped at the end of September 2025.
