Hi, I was thinking of removing KDE PIM as I never use but am wondering if it is safe to remove it? These are probably the packages in question. Some of them have been autoselected. I know it might be a dull habit these days, but I don’t want to bloat my system with apps I don’t use. Thanks.
Yes it’s safe as long as you don’t want anything in the koffice suite. I do this myself and replace it with Thunderbird/Lightning/Enigmail.
On the other hand, that KMail component of the KDE Plasma 5 PIM (Kontact) does the following:
- The spell-checker automatically (auto-magically
?) detects the language of the current sentence being typed. I have personally tested with e-Mails containing English and German sentences.
I’m not aware of any other current e-Mail client which has this feature – but, I stand to be corrected . . . >:)
