KDE lock screen and suspension

Hi guys!
I have 2 issues with power management/suspension/lockscreen.

  1. I don’t want pc goes in suspension when my music player (clementine) is running : how can I do?
  2. if I set to asks password after the lock screen (or suspension) I have a black screen and I need to type the password “in black” and then the screen turns on: it’s very annoying. for now I disable password request but I’d like to have.

thank you

For question one. Try this solution:

That happens to me, using Amarok.

I tried changing to “elisa”. That does solve the problem, because “elisa” blocked the suspension. But I prefer Amarok, so I went back to using that.

You can manually block the suspend in the power management tray app (it’s usually a hidden icon). The only problem with this, is that I tend to forget to unblock it.

Hi, In xfce there is a setting in the power manager plugin called presentation mode, once you enable it, it wont go to suspend. There might be something like that also in kde.

What do you mean with this? This thread is tagged Tumbleweed. Or do you mean some other way of dividing openSUSE in “types”?

panorain, I mean this in the nicest way possible. Please refrain from giving advice unless you are confident that you understand the situation.

thank you,
I’d like something automatic (just like Windows), I don’t want to lock-unlock manually everytime.

hi, thank you.
I need suspension but not when it’s playing music…

If you start your application using GUI menu or similar, you can edit desktop file and stick systemd-inhibit before the actual command. If you start it in shell command line, for a long time I had

alias mpv='systemd-inhibit mpv`
