I kept my system in Suspend state instead of doing a shutdown for some days, and no new snapshots were available. Then I did a restart and the info about a new snapshot was implemented and ready to be used previous a restart, as usual. Was just by chance I did no see new snapshots without reboot or the process of applying new snapshots to the system is triggered only after a start ?
[I hope i was clear enough in my question] Thanks
I’m not sure what you’re asking.
I’ve reread your post about five times now, and I’m still confused if you’re asking about a problem, or just about how Kalpa works
sorry, my bad. No problem at all in my Kalpa system. simple curiosity to know how the snapshot update process occurs. Since, it seems to me if i never do shutdown, i never receive the notification a new snapshot is available (then I know to use the new available snapshot I must restart the system). hoping now it is a little bit more clear my question ![]()
From what I understand Kalpa should automatically download the upates from a new snapshot, but install them only after a reboot. So, if you never shutdown or reboot, the actual install will never happen. Hope that clears it.
How old is your install? there was a bug with the notifier, that requires manual intervention to fix, if your install is old enough.
