k9copy crash

I’m trying to use k9copy, but it consistently crashes with a signal 11
sigsegv. I’m running 11.1 64-bit, KDE 4.1.3 release 4.9, and k9copy
2.1.0.

It’s somewhat frustrating. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is
happening? Many thanks in advance… I can post error messages if
needed.

Sorry - should have said: that is the KDE4 k9copy. I’ve also tried the
KDE3 version, and that one crashes without fanfare or message.

Is this happening at launch? If so what do you get from a terminal
launch?

Have you tried k3b

Or to get a mpg directly you could do:

mplayer dvd://1 -dumpstream -dumpfile movie.mpg

Many thanks for your reply!

I’m launching from Applications | Multimedia |CD/DVD Burning. I haven’t
tried launching from the command line, as the app starts normally,
allows me to select the disc in the DVD drive, and starts the copy
process. It will then crash at some point during the process, which
seems to vary according to which DVD is in the drive.

Just tried again, and got a different crash message:

Just tried k3b and got “Cannot copy encrypted DVDs”. I have
libdvdcss2-1.2.9-1 and libdvdread4-4.1.3-1.16 installed…

Hmm…

Just tried the “mplayer dvd://1 -dumpstream -dumpfile movie.mpg” command
you suggested. It worked perfectly to dump the first title out to an
MPG. Thank you!

If you have time - post the above crash output over to Packman.

The way to do it is go to Packman:
‘PackMan :: Startseite’ (http://packman.links2linux.de/)

Find your ver of k9copy 32 or 64 bit

click on the packagers name to start an email
give as much info as you can - including system spec
