Juliaup does not seem to be available in the repo

Hello,

I don’t hang around these parts much, so apologies if this is the wrong section or the wrong place to raise this issue.

Both the opensuse wiki and the juliaup page suggest that juliaup should be available from the repo for installation with sudo zypper in juliaup.

But it does not seem to be the case:

$ sudo zypper refresh
Refreshing service 'openSUSE'.
Repository 'update-tumbleweed' is up to date.
Repository 'repo-non-oss' is up to date.
Repository 'repo-openh264' is up to date.
Repository 'repo-oss' is up to date.
All repositories have been refreshed.

$ sudo zypper in juliaup

Is my installation borked somehow?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Forum :smile:
It’s not in the default repositories for Tumbleweed, use the search feature at the Open Build Service and I see it’s in the Science development repository (and failing to build);
https://build.opensuse.org/search?search_text=juliaup
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/science/juliaup

Packages that fail to build and no action will get dropped, once fixed can be re-submitted.

Try:

zypper ar -f -p 101 https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/science/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/ Science_repo
zypper ref Science_repo

After that:

luna:~ # zypper in juliaup
Refreshing service 'NVIDIA'.
Refreshing service 'openSUSE'.

[EDIT] Version 1.22.7 is indeed failing to build for Tumbleweed, but version 1.19.8-110.12 is available.
1.22.7 is available for Leap.

And BTW you have a backlog of three months of Tumbleweed upgrades, not even getting important security upgrades?
Maybe you are better off with Leap 16.0?

I was not aware of the OBS. Thanks for pointing it out!
I am not super familiar with maintaining a package and registering it, but I can help with the maintenance if needed, is there somewhere I can read up on the procedures?
Or is it just a matter of waiting?

I just copy-pasted an old issue body I had opened some time ago. Current system is up to speed!

Please do not do that. As nobody here can look over your shoulder everybody completely depends on trusting what you post. Once they loose trust in you, they will avoid your topics. :rage:

You’re right, that wasn’t very smart of me. I did rerun the refresh and attempt install to double check that it was still the case before posting but then didn’t think that I was in a different version.
