It won't load in wayland. black screen

I recently updated the system, including the kernel and driver version of the Nvidia 550 to 570.
It wasn’t until a while later that I noticed that I was loaded in x11, when I tried to go to Wayland I got a black screen.
Ctrl + Alt + F2, F3, F4
The screen blinks and nothing happens. on f2 there was a background picture and time. there is no cursor, nothing is possible to open. no access to the terminal.
After installing nvidia i registered the keys on the mok screen

@blaspheme Hi likely same as this thread https://forums.opensuse.org/t/opencl-stopped-functioning/182303 using a now Legacy Intel GPU…

Add your voice to the bug report https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1236716?

There is no way I can fix this on my own?

Rolling back to the 550 nvidia driver version won’t help?

Is my gtx 1070 video card considered obsolete hardware?

As you can see in your error output and from Malcolms comment, it is your Intel card which seems to be legacy now. Nvidia is fine.

When switching to Wayland and getting a black screen, I was able to switch ctr+alt+f3 and watch the latest recordings of the magazine

He was advised to install an old version of the driver for his Intel-Opencl v. 21.36.20889.

Which version of the driver should I install and how to do it, please tell me?

@blaspheme they need to build a “Legacy” package and publish.

Maybe see here?

Installed this package. But still loads the system in x11. When switching to the wayland black screen, after several tty switches and waiting in the black screen, was able to get into the wayland, but the windows and programs do not open, mouse clicks are not possible.

@blaspheme are you using suse-prime on this system?

yes

The problem remains

You seem to be using a high resolution on one of your monitors, do you have VRR or variable refresh rate enabled & use this over HDMI? As there seems to be a bug with this feature and the Nvidia 570 driver & Wayland perhaps. See here for discussion with quite a few similar issues reported: 570 release feedback & discussion - Linux - NVIDIA Developer Forums

Hope this might help you?

I have two monitors. Both 4k have permissions. Both are connected to nvidia. Both are connected via DisplayPort cables. 1 monitor has 144 hertz, second 60

I guess you should be OK then. I have a similar Graphics Card to you a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB vs. your 1070 & also a two monitor set up which works OK with the 570 Driver & Wayland but a different desktop. One monitor being via display port & one via HDMI and differing resolutions - one 3440x1440 DP & the other 1920x1080 HDMI although they are both running at 60hz. So the only thing I can suggest is to try setting them both to 60hz if you are able to and see if that helps perhaps?

I realise this may not be ideal for you use case if you are a gamer or doing graphic design or something. If you are a gamer then I guess some of these might be utilizing the VRR thing which is suggested to be causing problems in that forum I linked to . I don’t think I use VRR, as far as I’m aware, as I’m not a gamer, but perhaps others who are or admin types might be able to advise on how to check / turn off VRR settings to see if that helps perhaps? I also note you have the Vulkan thing which is mentioned in that Forum too, which I don’t have so maybe that could be investigated too but that’s above my pay grade as it were!

That’s all I can suggest, hope you get something sorted. Here’s my inxi-G for reference:

Journal, not magazine.

Use code tags, not pictures.

To use Nvidia + proprietary drivers + Wayland, you need rather new version of Nvidia drivers. But this new version ILL is not compatible with new kernel in TW. Use X11 or Slowroll or Leap.

Please stop spreading FUD about drivers and kernel. Kernel modules get automatically rebuild on the user machine since ages when a new kernel or Nvidia driver gets installed (when installed from the openSUSE Nvidia repo via the “easy way”).

There are always some corner cases, where some users have issues with their machines and drivers (the same with Intel and AMD as you should know). But that is not a reason to spread clearly false informations.

All my machines have different Nvidia GPUs (including Optimus setups). All machines use Tumbleweed. No issues with latest drivers and kernels.
