Is there any file-manager with check boxes like on MS Windows?

Dear all!

Is there any GUI file-manager for Linux with check boxes like on MS Windows?

I find this very nice when wanting to move or copy a selection of files/folders (some, but not all). For me, it’s a better way of use than holding [CTRL] while chosing files/folders.

TIA!

Hover your pointer over the file icon in Dolphin and you’ll see a + sign appear.
Click once to add it to the selection and it’ll turn into a -.
Click the - to remove it from the selection.

Click the + on multiple files/folders and they’ll be selected.

Not checkboxes as such, but KDE Plasma’s Dolphin offers equivalent selection behavior. Open Dolphin, and press the space bar to put it in selection mode…

Single-clicking can select or deselect files or folders as required. To exit press the space bar or Esc.

Thank you for pointing to Dolphin!

I have already heard of it a couple times. But so far, I have just been using Thunar as I am on Xfce.

Midnight Commander or Krusader or any other NC-like: select with Insert key, move focus with cursor keys.

Hold the ctrl key and select files…
