Is possible to setup OpenSUSE as realtime system?

Hi,
I’m new to the forums and OpenSUSE.
My apologies if this is not the correct place to post this question.
Where should I post this question?
I would like to take the source code for OpenSUSE and recompile with RealTime capabilies.
Like, CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT_FULL, CONFIG_HIGH_RES_TIMERS, CONFIG_IRQBALANCE to start.
Is this possible? Is there a “how to” for this type of job.
Thank you,
Augie

There is an unofficial build of a real-time kernel for openSUSE 12.2 on the open build service. Though if this is for something mission critical you need it for, I would contact the maintainer for information on the package first. software.opensuse.org:

Otherwise you can patch/compile a kernel yourself. I have yet to find a very simple way to do so I am sorry to say.

Hi,
Who is the maintainer and I do I contact them?
Thank you,
Augie

I am not saying to do so. Just that unless you have a system to test it on before using, you might want to ask them how well they maintain the package. I think there is a mail thing on the users part of the repository.
