Is it possible to use Netflix on opensuse?

Can anyone give me a quick update, what the current state of Netflix on Linux (especially on opensuse Tumbleweed) is?
I already did some searching on google and found old threads mentioning stuff like: pipelight
but as i found out pipelight is not only discontinued, at it seems that even chrome would not be an option anymore because they abandoned another important feature or am i wrong here?

Basically i just want to know if it is still possible to use Netflix on opensuse and if yes how i can achieve that.

Thanks

It works if you install Google Chrome :-/

Does Chromium also work or does it have to be Chrome?

If not is there a Chrome repository for opensuse tumbleweed?

edit: Chromium kind of works, at least i did not directly get redirected to a info page telling me about recommended browsers and operating systems when i start a video, but instead i get an error telling me that i have to check chrome://components for a component called: WidevineCdm but it is not listed.
So i think i need the real chrome instead

Ok i found out what to do.
At first: chromium does not work, only google chrome. A rpm can be downloaded directly from google.

you need to do a vendor change with packman for multimedia to work, that should pull the widevinecdm plugin if not install it manually

zypper in chromium-plugin-widevinecdm

Firefox for windows includes a widevinecdm plugin so installing it under wine is another way to get Netflix
Mozilla are planning on porting the widevinecdm plugin on Firefox for Linux but when will that be … nobody knows
according to this
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-drm
Firefox supports google’s widevinecdm plugin (you’d still need a full vendor change to packman)

Well, I am sure I_A will not disagree with me, that this would be only a last resort if there were no better (=native) alternatives.

I am not sure if it will work, but it might be possible to use the widevinecdm-plugin in Firefox in combination with the “freshplayerplugin” (also from Packman).

From “zypper info freshplayerplugin”:

The main goal of this project is to get PPAPI (Pepper) Flash player
working in Firefox.

That was (and still is?) the main usage, but the following description looks promising:

This wrapper implements some kind of adapter
which will look like browser to PPAPI plugin and look like NPAPI
plugin for browser.

Certainly worth a shot.

I use it daily on Leap.

Install Chrome, use Netflix. That’s all it takes.

Been using Netflix on openSUSE for a long time now. Install Chrome browser and go to netflix.com, login and start using Netflix. Done

Tip: Once you’re logged in to Netflix on Chrome use the f11 key to go full screen.

Or in the Netflix playback, just click the ‘full screen’ icon in the
lower right corner.

Uh… it’s chrome, setup an icon, make it app like:
/usr/bin/google-chrome --app=https://www.netflix.com
