[IPv6] Networc Card will not receive IP address from radvd

Hello *!

On our Home LAN, we have several different SuSE machines running.

Now, I have run into a problem which I cannot solve myself.

One of the computers (a 11.2) just doesn’t receive any IPv6 lease from the main router. The router has radvd running and distributes addresses to the other computers just fine.

The network card on the box ist a

00:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8185 IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 20)
Subsystem: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8185 IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 19
I/O ports at d000 [size=256]
Memory at ea000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1]
Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2
Kernel driver in use: rtl8185B

radvdump run on this computer stays absolutely quiet.

I can, however, set IPv6 up manually. Nevertheless, this isn’t what I want…

Anyone got a clue for me?

Thank you!

Do the other 11.2 boxes have the rtl8185B chipset? Are they the SAME (not just
chipset)? I know that it matters with OEM’d boards sometimes. So you can have
one RTL based board that works right and one that doesn’t.

I have not seen the issue, but I don’t think I have any rtl8185B NICs in play at
the moment. I too am using radvd… works well everywhere I’ve used it.
