I could find no reference in the forums on Ipads, or idevicepair. I would like to transfer files from my linux box to an Ipad, and Iphone. I was doing some research and in the Ubuntu forums I found that I could install libimobiledevice-utils and ifuse, then run idevicepair unpair && idevicepair pair. I found that attempting to pair it, I got the following error message: ERROR: Could not pair with the device because a passcode is set. Please enter the passcode on the device and retry.
I could find nothing anywhere on the internet on how to get past this. There is no switch to enter a passcode.
It turns out that IF the device is screenlocked, you will get this error. Simply open the device, unlock it on the device and it will pair.
This says it should just show up as a device. It is not. I’m lost at this point. Anybody have any success? I feel like I’m REAL close, just missing one last piece.
Weird… I looked on google and found a reference to Ipad here on this forum. ?? Anyhow… “ifuse” is the trick.
I just created a mount point, and typed “ifuse /mount/point”. Voilla. I can now see my “stuff”!! WOOT! This ought to beat the **** outta Itunes. What a mess of a program.
