Hi all,
Today I updated (sudo zypper dup) my leap 15.4 computer. I lost my Internet Connection Sharing in the process. I had a similar problem this year when upgrading from 15.3 to 15.4 (see post Internet Connection Sharing Failure when updating to 15.4 (from15.3) for details).
I tried the known dnsmask.conf fix, but it didn’t help.
When this computer is down, my whole network is down!
I just rolled it back to ‘post 2023-10-03’ - it’s working again.
Can anyone put some light on what is happening?
Kind regards
Pedro

And what when you update with zypper up
as should be one of the correct ways to do it AFAIK, and not use zyppper dup
(why do you use that?)
Thanks for your reply @hcvv .
I haven’t tried zypper up. A long time ago I read, or was told, that zypper dup was the best way?
I mostly use the Software Updates GUI, but it doesn’t give much feedback, so, I use zypper if I’m in a hurry.
I just read ‘man zypper’ - I’ll give zypper up a try when my network isn’t busy…
KInd regards
Pedro

It is, if you are using Tumbleweed, not if you are using Leap. There is normally only one time to use zypper dup in a Leap release version: when upgrading to the next Leap version . If testing a Leap pre-release (alpha or beta), then zypper dup is also the best way.
