Intel graphics issue

Hey, I just installed Tumbleweed KDE and I’ve been having glitchy graphics. When minimizing, maximizing, restore from minimizing, I get a glitchy tearing effect on the screen. Its usually just at the top 1 inch or so of the screen. I’m not sure if this is a common issue but thought I’d ask if anyone had a fix for this. The laptop is a Thinkpad t420 with intel graphics.

Thanks

Jason

Hi
Sounds similar to this user and their MacBook, I see it briefly here on this MacBook with the topbar in Gnome, but I put that to age since it’s a 2007 model intel card…

Can’t say I am seeing this, though just odd times I see something that might be what you are describing. I’ve noticed it but ignored it because it’s so infrequent and non-intrusive

I had some similar issues, and if I rebooted or restarted X it would clear up. I made the following changes a couple of days ago and I have not seen the issue since:

Configure Desktop>>Compositor>>Rendering Backend: OpenGL3.1 – OpenGL interface: EGL>>Apply
