Installing virtualbox/VMWare and NVidia drivers

After installing the proprietary NVidia drivers, my graphics card is recognised and works.

I’d like however to also install Virtualbox and/or the free version of NVidia Workstation, but doing so seems to replace the kernel (?), and thus the NVidia drivers don’t seem to be loaded anymore. This popped up when installing Virtualbox, so I rolled back the install and didn’t proceed yet to installing VMWare Workstation.

Can the drivers and Virtualbox/VMWare be installed at the same time?

I’m on the latest version of Tumbleweed.

Thanks a lot!

Never heard of that.

Where do you get this error?
Post it complete.

Thanks for the reply. I’d love to post all necessary logs and other information. Which information can I post? I’m a bit new to debugging this kind of issues. No explicit error was observed in any case.

You can start with showing facts that installation of Virtualbox “seems to replace the kernel”. How you came to this conclusion?
