So yesterday I installed on my comp the Suse… but there was already a WinXP on another partition… So the installer finished, but after it I couldn’t see it anymore… (the xp) So did I miss something? (Usually I use Ubuntu, but the ubuntu installer did not work on that comp and by the way I thought that its worth a try… :’(
So anybody… ideas?
(Oh I forgot to tell, that I use Linux for weeks only…)
Usually the OpenSUSE installer will detect windows and put an entry for it
in Grub so I’m surprised yours did not. Let’s get some data from your
box, starting with your partition setup:
sudo /sbin/fdisk -l
Good luck.

I did everything the way its written… it seemed it’ll be good, but when it finished rebooting it showed a black screen with the cursor and nothing more… I watched it for 10 minutes… :
Well I think I’ll reinstall the whole from the beginning…
Hope I’m on time. Reinstalling would probably bring the same problem. I’d rather help you to get the install booting and working. Please reply if you’re not on it yet.
Its over sry, but I think I discovered a small fail… Accidentally I switched the partitions while installing windows, (I installed on drive G) so I’ll try it in this way like my op systems on my laptop… Just a few minutes and I’ll tell my experiences…
Well… I see now the windows system and the suse too… BUT! Nautilus can’t start till I make my folder in home dir. AND from the live cd I can’t make it, because I don’t have permission to do it…
ok… it worked for a few minutes… until I tried to install nvidia driver… it said i have to exit xserver and now at logging in i see a blank white screen… and nothing happens
